In 1995, Dr Watkins was invited by the Institute of HeartMath to join them in scientific research, which he did for two years, co-authoring several research papers. In 1996 Dr Watkins introduced the HeartMath technology to Europe and to Hunter Kane Ltd who subsequently became their European licensee. Dr Watkins resigned as a Director of Hunter Kane in 2002. A legal dispute followed which was resolved in mediation in April 2004. The final agreement states, 'said High Court proceedings have been settled amicably on terms agreeable to both parties'.
